Chinese Fires at Two Men

Warned by Horse.

An attempted hold-up occurred near Hilledge on Tuesday night.

Yee Moon Dye, a Chinese market gardener, was returning from the city in a buggy when he noticed a man lying on the roadway. The horse shied at the man, and the Chinaman then noticed a second figure standing near the other man. The person lying down jumped to his feet and two shots were fired.

The Chinaman, who was licensed to carry a revolver, drew his gun and fired three shots at the men, who ran away.
