Chinese Robbed

The Beaudesert Times, Friday, June 3, 1932

Cairns, May 30.

A bandit knocked Hoy Lee, a Chinese market gardener, unconscious at the gate of his farm about dusk on Saturday night, and stole a bag containing about 5, his day's takings, which were in his cart.

Hoy Lee, whose farm is about a mile from Gordonvale on tho Aloomba road, had entered his property with the cart, and was returning to shut the gate when he was felled from behind. He staggered to his hut, where a friend was waiting, and it was then found that the money was missing.

Acting-Sergeant Calligan and Constable Bennett are investigating the matter.
